The 2006 Program Committee invites proposals for conference sessions supporting the theme Expect the Unexpected: Are We Clearly Prepared.  Proposals should fit into one of the three programming tracks - Policy & Administration, Credentialing & Examination Issues, or Professional Discipline -  and address at least one of the issue threads/sub themes - planning/preparedness for change and new environments; accountability and effectiveness; globalization and mobility; how we use technology/emerging technology; who should license? national regulation/federal licensing; or environmental scanning/knowledge management.

Programming Track Mission Statements give details about each of the programming tracks.

Session Formats
CLEAR conference sessions fit into the following time frames: 3-hour pre-conference workshop, 1-hour early bird session, or 1 to 1 1/2-hour concurrent session.  Workshops, early birds, and one concurrent session per timeslot can accommodate a roundtable set-up.  Six of the estimated seven concurrent roundtable sessions are reserved for standing committee/working group discussions.

Interactive sessions with opportunity for facilitated discussion are encouraged.  Preference will be given to sessions that focus on involving new speakers that have not appeared at CLEAR before and sessions that focus on outcomes and learnings rather than a narrative approach.  Sessions that present multiple perspectives on an issue are also encouraged.

A list of past conference topics is available.
A list of responsibilities for session coordinator and moderator is available.

Proposal Review Process
Session proposals will be forwarded to the Program Subcommittees in December.  During the mid-year meeting, the committees will review the proposals and recommend sessions for the conference program.  Please be advised that the Program Committee reserves the right to accept your proposal in full as an individual session or combined with other proposals as a collaborative session in the interest of providing a balanced program.  Changes may be made to session titles and descriptions.  Your willingness to work with individuals proposing similar or related topics is appreciated.  To that end, please be advised that acceptance of a proposal does not necessarily indicate acceptance of the recommended coordinator, moderator, or speakers.
