Interested in Sponsoring an NCIT?
Sponsoring an offering of the National Certified Investigator/Inspector Training (NCIT) program is easy. If your agency (or a group of agencies) can guarantee 60 attendees for a Basic Program, or 30 attendees for a Specialized Program, that's all it takes. In fact, even if you don't have quite that many people to guarantee, CLEAR staff can work with you to locate attendees from other places in order to make up the necessary number. The form for prospective hosts is online (
http://www.clearhq.org/NCIT_Hosting_Form.htm).

Upcoming programs are scheduled for Sacramento, California (Basic April 30 - May 2; Specialized May 14-16) and San Antonio, Texas (Basic and Specialized both on September 11-13). An additional offering will be held in Madison, Wisconsin, likely during June. View the most current schedule and register for training by visiting
http://www.clearhq.org/ncitofferings.htm

Reminder: attendees of CLEAR's Specialized NCIT program are eligible to receive a $25 discount on their registration fee if they register within eighteen months of completing the Basic program.

CLEAR Exam Review
The winter 2001 issue of CLEAR Exam Review is in the mail. One copy is sent out as a membership benefit to each member of record, but for many of you who don't see it on a regular basis, this journal is still one of CLEAR's best-kept secrets. Some agencies carry individual memberships for their staff and board members, which at $30 per year for both issues, is a bargain. This issue contains the following items and more, much more:

- an article on Testing Across the Nation by Sandra Greenberg ("explores several technology solutions that facilitate key credentialing processes"),

- a legal piece, "Whose License is it Anyway," by Dale Atkinson which looks at questions surrounding federal government authority over state-issued licenses,

- "Detecting and Preventing Cheating on Credentialing Examinations" by Gregory J. Cizek who writes that "Overall, the evidence on the problem of cheating on tests is in. Cheating is occurring with increasing frequency."

2001 Annual Conference
The Texas Health Professions Council will host CLEAR's annual conference scheduled for September 13-15 in San Antonio. The Program Committee, working under the leadership of Program Co-Chairs Sandra Greenberg, Donna Mooney, and Gail Siskind, is putting the finishing touches on the conference flyer which will be mailed to you soon. It will also be made available online.

Online Payments Accepted
CLEAR is pleased to accept payment online via PayPal (
