Member Updates

Louise Ware has been appointed director of the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. Governor Mark Warner's press release said that "Ware, a former commissioner of the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage control between 1990-1994, most recently served as an executive assistant to the Acting Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs." She replaces Jack Kotvas, an active CLEAR member for the past eight years.

Barry A. Cassidy is the new executive director of the Arizona Board of Medical Examiners. Cassidy replaces Claudia Foutz.

Amy M. Jones is now the division director for the Florida Division of Medical Quality Assurance, Department of Health. Jones replaces Gloria Henderson.

David J. Knauer, Director of the New Mexico Board of Examiners for Architects, was awarded the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) President's Medal at its 2002 annual meeting. This is the highest distinction conferred by NCARB.
