This is the
time of year that CLEAR’s president sums up the activities of the preceding
months before turning over the helm to a new leader.
Perhaps most satisfying to me is that this has been a year of increased
financial stability for CLEAR following a fairly difficult two years. Many of
you are experiencing your own unprecedented budgetary woes, yet you continue to
support our important organization and for that I thank you.

Board of Nurse Examiners Adopts New Rules
In the 2003 Regular Legislative
Session, HB 1095, relating to prescriptive authority for advanced practice
nurses, was passed and signed into law. HB 1095 amended the Medical Practice Act
to permit physicians to delegate authority to prescribe controlled substances
listed in schedules III through V to advanced practice nurses.
