CLEAR INVESTIGATIVE TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD

Please note: No sitting member of the Board of Directors may be recommended for a CLEAR award. 

This award is established to recognize an investigative team working in occupational and professional regulation, which has demonstrated exceptional performance in a particular case and a history of excellent performance beyond what is normally expected or required.

Qualifications:

Please complete the following online form to submit your nomination, by May 16, 2008.

  1. Select one investigation completed by the nominated team within the past 3 years that merits recognition as an exceptional investigation.

  2. In the box below, provide a narrative (of no more than 300 words) of the investigation that includes the following:
    1. overview of case
    2. investigative techniques
    3. professional attributes
    4. action resulting from investigation
    5. effects and results

    6. detail of how the case is exceptional, going beyond what is normally expected or required

  3. Evaluation criteria include:
  1. case study—judged on complexity of case, uniqueness/unusual events, action resulting from the investigation (may or may not have resulted in discipline), and effects or results (changed procedures, laws, rules, etc.)
  2. investigative techniques—Were violations detected beyond allegations? Would techniques used in this investigation benefit other investigators? Also judged on investigative creativity, sound investigative techniques and effective interview techniques.
  3. professional attributes—judged on interaction with others (witnesses, respondents, etc.), independent action, extra effort and case documentation.
