This volume examines a range of professional groups -- from law, accounting and architecture to medicine, nursing, engineering, and the military -- and aims to illuminate the extent and manner by which professions contribute to the normative order of society. Chapters provide comparative analyses of professions from a variety of nations.The initial chapter presents an analysis of the impacts of global and regional trade agreements (EU, NAFTA, MERCOSUR, ANZCETA, APEC, and WTO) upon licensing/regulatory processes for professions in various nations.
The countries represented in the various chapters include: Canada, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Ireland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
