CLEAR Election
2010-2011
Candidate Position Statement
Marc Seale
I am standing for re-election to the Board
of CLEAR for two years.
I have been involved with CLEAR for a number of years and have served on the
Board for the last year. I am a member of the International Relations Committee
and the Credentialing and Licensing/Examination Issues Committee. I have
attended and presented at three CLEAR conferences. I have also been
contributing to the planning of the forthcoming CLEAR International Conference
to be held in London in July 2011.
I have been on the Boards of various health and consumer organizations since
1995. I have worked on numerous UK and pan-European regulation projects that
have delivered better regulation and improved public protection. My experience
of visiting licensing authorities and regulators, whether in Delaware, Oslo,
Sydney or Virginia, is that we can all learn from one another.
I have been the CEO of the Health Professions Council (HPC) since 2001. The HPC
is based in London, England and licenses 215,000 health professionals from 15
professions including physical therapists, podiatrists and psychologists.
Further details can be found on our web site
www.hpc-uk.org.
Living in London, I am married to Carole and we have two children. Away from
work I play golf and explore the Lake District.
It would be a great honor to be re-elected to the CLEAR Board. If re-elected, I
would not only commit myself to continue to uphold CLEAR’s objectives but also
to focus on ensuring that our international profile and reputation is raised in
the UK and Europe.
