The National Emergency Management Association (NEMA), an affiliate organization of the Council of State Governments, recently issued a report titled Trends in State Terrorism Preparedness. The report "is not intended to be a comprehensive assessment of states' terrorism preparedness activities, but rather a snapshot picture that gives a sense of both common and unique approaches to addressing domestic preparedness."

The states, territories and District of Columbia were surveyed with the responses organized by geographic regions in six primary areas: Terrorism Preparedness, Planning Initiatives, Incident Command, Protection of Critical Infrastructures, Legislative Activity and Key Issues. The report may be accessed by visiting the NEMA web site at www.nemaweb.org
