  • an examination of the processes and principles involved in evaluating international academic credentials to answer the question: When is a degree a degree?
  • an exploration into issues of collecting international documents: how to recognize and authenticate international credentials, establishing what documents are necessary. 
  • a discussion of the growing problem and insidious nature of diploma mills and issues in analyzing records from non-accredited institutions that may or may not be considered diploma mills.  
  • an introduction to the many resources available to admission officers and credential evaluators to be used in the evaluation and authentication of international academic credentials

Presenter:
Kevin F. Rolwing, Assistant Director at World Education Services, has been evaluating international academic credentials for over 18 years and has completed extensive research and numerous articles focusing on educational systems around the world. Kevin's primary focus is Latin America and Europe, and he gives frequent presentations at national and regional conferences covering various topics such as educational systems, academic credential verification, diploma mills, transfer credits and the Bologna Process.
