Asia-Pacific Regional Symposium

Measuring and Reporting Regulatory Performance

November 29 - 30, 2018 | Intercontinental Wellingtion

The primary objective of professional and occupational regulators is to “serve and protect the public interest”.  But how can the regulator know if it is doing a good job?  How can it know if it is mitigating and managing risk to an appropriate level? Are there, or could there be, performance standards beyond those provided by legislation?  These questions are fundamental to the regulator.
This two-day symposium will examine the approaches taken and mechanisms used by professional and occupational regulators to demonstrate that they are serving and protecting the public interest, first looking, in a more traditional sense, at the process and reporting of performance, and second by examining how regulators can move beyond current parameters to understand the larger influence they have on the community with their work. Also included in the second day will be an opportunity for regulators to interact with their international counterparts to build relationships and develop forward thinking solutions to current challenges.

Review the draft agenda.
