CLEAR is closely monitoring the current outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Attendee safety is our top concern, and we are following the guidance of local health authorities, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Public Health Agency of Canada and the World Health Organization (WHO). Based on current recommendations, many CLEAR events have been rescheduled and we will continue to provide updates as they become available. Approaches to Telehealth During the COVID-19 Pandemic

In the face of COVID-19 and the need for social distancing, telehealth is becoming a necessary alternative to in-person healthcare. Speakers from the Washington Medical Commission and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan will share their approaches to telehealth, including policies and guidelines, expectations for telemedicine, and care during the pandemic. The webinar will cover scope of practice issues, volunteer emergency health act and telemedicine, emergency licensure to provide virtual care, and billing for virtual care. Speakers will share lessons learned so far and predictions for telehealth post-pandemic.

The Ontario College of Teachers will share practical tips and lessons learned from the perspective of a high-volume administrative tribunal that has successfully re-designed its disciplinary processes for a remote world.

    As state and jurisdictions start to reopen personal and medical services that were shut down in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sara Chambers with Alaska Division of Corporations, Businesses, and Professional Licensing; Gina Fast with Minnesota Board of Cosmetology; and Adam Higginbotham with Nevada State Board of Cosmetology share information about their boards' roles in developing reopening guidelines. They discuss concerns and challenges faced by their boards and their licensees. Reflecting on lessons learned, they talk about the importance of technology in staying connected and communicating with licensees, listening to the licensees and providing resources they need through multiple communication channels, and collaboration with board and industry stakeholders to develop consistent guidance and messaging.
