This webinar discusses the approaches taken by two regulators in two countries to assess their own performance, against the Professional Standards Authority's Standards of Good Regulation (UK). The first approach outlines how a new regulatory organisation has applied these standards in a self-reflective manner. The second approach describes the results of a more formal performance review of a well established regulatory agency. The format is a three-person presentation by the Professional Standards Authority, the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators, and the Nursing Council of New Zealand.

Learning objectives are as follows:

*To understand the standards of good regulation

*To learn how they can be applied in two different ways to help regulators assess their own performance.
