In the spring of 2013, the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta began development of a computer-based tool built on a gamification platform to educate and assess knowledge of jurisprudence for Registered Nurses in Alberta. Gamification was chosen to promote engagement of RNs in the acquisition of jurisprudence knowledge. Since one key purpose of the tool was the demonstration of competence in jurisprudence, the selection of this format presented specific challenges for engineering psychometric defensibility. This session showcases the tool in action.
