This session will examine how risk management concepts apply in particular to professional and occupational regulators. Applying concepts of risk management to individual policy decisions can ensure meaningful debate about implications of decisions and enhance quality of decision-making. Building on the experience of one risk officer, the session will also examine risk from the unique perspective of the public who is being protected by the regulator. This is a background webinar to a companion session, Risk Management for Regulators - Why, What and How?, to be presented at the CLEAR conference in Portland.

Presenters:

Deanna Williams, risk officer, Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority and president, Dundee Consulting Group Ltd.

Rebecca Durcan, partner, Steinecke Maciura LeBlanc
