The webinar will provide an overview of how Consumer Protection BC became an early adopter of Online Dispute Resolution. Many factors influenced the shift in ODR from being used as an alternative to small claims court to being used as an informal complaint resolution tool for a regulated industry. We will explore how Consumer Protection BC defined the right circumstances and audience to successfully pilot the program within a regulatory environment. This is a background webinar to a companion session, Innovations in Complaint Resolution: Using Online Dispute Resolution as an Early Resolution Tool, to be presented at the CLEAR conference in Portland.
