Ten states were represented at an ad hoc Central Administrators Special Interest Group meeting in Chicago, April 11-12. The group heard a presentation on multistate licensing by Jennifer Bosma, CLEAR Board member and Executive Director, National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc., as well as a talk on the pharmacists' multistate jurisprudence exam by Carmen Catizone, Executive Director, National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. In addition, Bill Miller Joint Secretary, Georgia Office of Secretary of State, reported that although several professional deregulation measures had been proposed this legislative, none had passed. Bill Reeves, Director, Department of Business and Professional Regulation, told the group that his agency had revoked the licenses of several nail technicians licensed through Vietnamese licensing mills. The group will next meet during CLEAR's annual conference in a two-part roundtable scheduled for 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 6, 1997.
