Event Details

These sessions are open only to CLEAR members, giving you a space to collaborate and stay connected and an opportunity to discuss timely and relevant regulatory topics.

This Chat session will focus on Minding the Gap: Regulatory Intersections with Emerging and Adjacent Health Practices.

As wellness trends and alternative treatments such as IV infusion clinics, vitamin therapies, psilocybin centers, and influencer-driven advice continue to grow, regulators may increasingly find themselves adjacent to these practices without clear oversight authority. This CLEARinghouse Chat will provide an opportunity for members to share what they are observing, explore potential public safety concerns, and consider how regulation may intersect with these services, especially if calls for oversight arise. This Chat session will consider questions to encourage member feedback:

  • What emerging health-related services do you see currently operating outside traditional regulatory frameworks?
  • How do these services intersect with professional regulation? Where might public protection concerns arise?
  • What incidents and trends have you seen that could lead to increased pressure for regulation?
  • What particular challenges for regulation might these emerging health practices present?
  • Where might further programming, guidance, or collaboration be needed to prepare for future developments?

We’ll invite open discussion and sharing among the group. Breakout rooms are moderated by members of CLEAR's Regulatory Agency Administration committee. Participants are encouraged to turn on webcams/microphones and share information about what is happening in your jurisdictions. Please join us to share your experiences and questions about regulation and emerging health-related services.
