Tracking the New Normal – Factors Related to Variations in Pass Rates

A wide range of regulatory bodies and voluntary credentialing organizations identified changes in the pass rates for their assessments during the early days of the pandemic. Have these changes become the "new normal" or have pass rates returned to levels documented prior to the pandemic? What factors are associated with such changes? And what are the implications for regulators and candidates going forward?

Presenters will share the results of a large-scale survey that was disseminated to the members of both CLEAR and I.C.E. in early 2023 and lead a discussion on the implications of the findings. Of special interest will be how regulators and others can best use information arising from pandemic-related programmatic changes to inform decisions related to policies and procedures on exam eligibility, delivery, and modality, among other factors. Panelists will provide insights on how changes in pass rates shine a light on modifications that may be needed to maintain the quality of licensure or certification programs. This session is intended for all sponsors of credentialing programs as well as others that rely on credentialing-related decisions; findings and discussions will be applicable across a range of professions and geographic areas worldwide.
