Professional Bio
Paul Byrne is the Executive Director of Regulatory Operations and Support Services at the Irish Medical Council, where he is responsible for a number of key regulatory functions including Registration, Undergraduate & Postgraduate Education, Professional Competence, Performance & Reporting and Liaison & Support Services.
Paul has over 19 years of public policy experience with a regulatory focus, previously working in a senior role at CORU, Ireland’s social care regulator. Paul has previously worked in energy regulation with respect to national energy security, regulatory safety frameworks, and regulatory enforcement.
At CLEAR he serves on the Board of Directors,is Chair of the Technology and Innovation Task Force, Vice Chair of the Regulatory Agency Administration Committee, and is a member of the International Committee. Paul is also a mentor in Elevate, CLEAR’s mentorship program.
