Event Details
Regulatory board and council members carry significant responsibilities — and the challenges they face as leaders in public protection are unique. CLEAR's Advanced Concepts in Regulatory Governance (ACRG) program is designed specifically for experienced regulatory board and council members who are ready to deepen their understanding of governance, strengthen their leadership practice, and connect with peers from across the regulatory community.
This comprehensive one-week program is delivered in a hybrid format that combines self-paced independent study with live, instructor-led sessions via Zoom. Live sessions include Q&A, lectures, and small and large group discussions and activities, providing ample opportunity for peer-to-peer learning and engagement.
The program covers three core topic areas:
- Leadership and the Public Trust — Explores the concept of public interest, trends in profession-based regulation, trustworthiness, the importance of structure, process and culture, avoiding governance pitfalls, and board members as leaders
- Accountability and Evaluation — Focuses on regulatory board members' accountability and evaluation roles through interactive components that allow attendees to apply concepts to their own experiences
- Public Reporting — Examines how boards communicate their work and demonstrate accountability to the public they serve
Once you have registered for the program, you will receive a link to register for the Welcome & Introduction Session — a live Zoom session hosted by CLEAR staff. During this session, we will walk through program expectations, how to navigate the learning portal, and what will be required of you throughout the program. Attending this session is strongly encouraged as it sets you up for success from day one.
Successful completion of this program requires attending all required instructor-led sessions and completing the assigned independent study.
In keeping with CLEAR's commitment to sustainability, all virtual CLEAR Learning programs use eBooks in place of printed materials.
