National Certified Investigator/Inspector Training (NCIT) – US Basic Program – September 2026

CLEAR's National Certified Investigator/Inspector Training (NCIT) – Basic Program is a foundational professional development experience designed for regulatory investigators and inspectors at all stages of their careers. Whether you are new to the field or looking to formalize and strengthen your investigative practice, the NCIT Basic Program provides the core knowledge and skills essential to conducting thorough, fair, and defensible regulatory investigations.

This program is delivered in a hybrid format that combines independent study with live, instructor-led sessions. Participants engage directly with experienced regulatory professionals through interactive discussions, practical exercises, and real-world case applications. The curriculum covers the full investigative process — from jurisdiction and complaint intake through evidence collection, interviewing, report writing, and administrative proceedings.

Once you have registered for the program, you will receive a link to register for the Welcome Session — a live Zoom session hosted by CLEAR staff that kicks off your learning experience. During this session, we will walk through what to expect from the program, how to navigate the learning portal, and what will be required of you along the way. 

Successful completion of this program requires attending all required instructor-led sessions, completing the assigned independent study, and passing a final exam.

To participate in this training program, you will need:

• The latest version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, or Mozilla Firefox
• A wired or Wi-Fi internet connection
• A functioning microphone and webcam

• Substitutions: Allowed at any time before the start date of the program.
• Cancellations: Subject to a $95 USD service charge.
• No refunds or credits for cancellations made less than two weeks before the program start date.
• Completion Requirement: Participants must complete the program within 30 days to avoid forfeiting their registration fee. Re-registration at full cost may be required otherwise.
