This Chat session will focus on Advancing Equity in Regulation: Navigating Complexity Across Jurisdictions.
Regulatory bodies across multiple jurisdictions are working to embed principles of fairness, accessibility, and inclusion into licensure and oversight while also navigating differing legal frameworks, political climates, and public expectations. For DEI practitioners in regulation, the work often involves balancing consistency with flexibility, responding to evolving terminology and priorities, and ensuring that efforts remain grounded in the core mandate of public protection. This chat will explore how organizations are sustaining meaningful equity-focused work, adapting to shifting contexts, and identifying practical approaches that resonate across diverse jurisdictions. While all are welcome to join the conversation, the session is designed with a primary focus on participants who have DEI responsibilities as part of their roles and are actively engaged in this work.

This Chat session will consider questions to encourage member conversation:

• How are you framing equity and inclusion work within your organization in ways that align with your regulatory mandate and resonate across different partner groups?
• What strategies have you found effective in maintaining momentum for DEI-related initiatives amid changing political or organizational priorities?
• How do you assess whether regulatory policies or processes may be creating unintended barriers for certain groups, and what tools or data are most useful in that analysis?
• In cross-jurisdictional contexts, what lessons or approaches have you drawn from colleagues in other countries that could be adapted to your own environment?
• Looking ahead, where do you see opportunities to advance equity in regulation in ways that are practical, sustainable, and impactful? 

We’ll invite open discussion and sharing among the group. Breakout rooms are moderated by members of CLEAR's DEI committee. Participants are encouraged to turn on webcams/microphones and share information about what is happening in your jurisdictions.
