CA Dental Board: new fingerpringint process

Entry to Practice,

The Dental Board of California has introduced a new fingerprinting process for licensed dental professionals, including dentists, permitted dental assistants, registered dental assistants (RDAs), and RDAs in extended functions (RDAEFs), who lack a fingerprint record in the BreEZe system. Effective immediately, these individuals must obtain board approval before submitting fingerprints for license renewal. Upon application, the board will review the submission and provide a Live Scan form to authorized applicants. Additionally, starting July 1, 2025, the board will implement a new Registered Dental Assisting Examination and Licensure application, along with updated forms supporting newly established pathways to RDA licensure. These changes aim to streamline the licensing process and ensure compliance with updated regulatory requirements.
