This Chat session will focus on Navigating Challenges in Regulatory Workplaces.

Regulatory environments can be high-pressure, and even the most dedicated teams face challenges that strain communication and collaboration. From differing work styles to competing priorities, staff may encounter tensions that, if left unaddressed, can hinder effectiveness. This session offers practical strategies to navigate internal workplace challenges, strengthen teamwork, and foster healthier, more resilient regulatory organizations.
Learning Objectives:
• Recognize common workplace challenges faced by regulatory staff and teams.
• Apply strategies to address tensions and maintain productive working relationships.
• Strengthen communication and collaboration skills that build more effective and resilient regulatory organizations.

 This Chat session will consider these questions to encourage member conversation:

• What are the most common sources of tension or friction you’ve observed in regulatory workplaces, and what makes them particularly challenging to address?
• How do differing professional backgrounds (e.g., legal, clinical, administrative) shape communication styles and expectations within your organization? Where have you seen this create either challenges or strengths?
• How do competing priorities—such as the struggle for available resources or fulfillment of board directions—create tensions among your team? How have you successfully managed this tension?
• What strategies or practices have you found most helpful in maintaining trust and collaboration during periods of high pressure or competing priorities?  
• What is one change—big or small—that could improve communication or collaboration within your team or organization? What barriers might stand in the way?

We’ll invite open discussion and sharing among the group. Breakout rooms are moderated by members of CLEAR's Education & Training committee. Participants are encouraged to turn on webcams/microphones and share information about what is happening in your jurisdictions.
