Position Title: Executive Director, Legal, Policy and Records Management
Status: Full-time; Permanent
The Executive Director serves as corporate governance, policy development, records management, alongside legal issues impacting College. Reporting to the Registrar/CEO, the Executive Director provides operational and strategic direction for the department, oversees the management of external legal services, and ensures that operational strategies are integrated with our strategic priorities and risk management framework. The Executive Director collaborates with the Superintendent and advances the standards of good regulation through measurable action plans and outcomes.
The Executive Director provides leadership on a broad spectrum of legislation, including the Health Professions Act (HPA), the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA), associated regulations and bylaws, the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA), the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA), the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and matters related to technology use and modernization. The Privacy Officer reports to the Executive Director.
This role requires exceptional judgment, a high degree of political acuity, and the proven ability to provide strategic counsel and lead a multi-faceted department in a dynamic regulatory landscape.
It is essential for all College staff to contribute to a team approach with a public protection focus, delivering efficient services that align with and allow the College to meet its regulatory, strategic, and operational goals.
