Kansas: out-of-state waivers for sports physicians

New legislation in Kansas allows the State Board of Healing Arts to issue sports waivers so that healthcare professionals traveling to Kansas with a competitive sports team will be able to provide care to the team's athletes while in Kansas. Advocates for the legislation pointed to the importance of continuity of care for traveling athletes. With the law's passage in Kansas, only three other states - Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Hawaii - do not have such a waiver.
