Kansas: "sugaring" to be exempted from licensing requirements

Legislation awaiting the governor's signature in Kansas would exempt sugaring from cosmetology or esthetician licensure requirements. Sugaring is a hair removal technique involving a paste of sugar, lemon juice, and water. Practitioners have sued the State Board of Cosmetology over current requirements, which include 1,000 or 1,500 instruction hours with only 1% of it in sugaring.
