North Carolina: temporary rules for midwifery

Following legislation to allow independent practice for certified nurse midwives, the Midwifery Joint Committee of the North Carolina Board of Nursing has issued temporary rules effective October 1. The rules include "working under a collaborative provider agreement, prescribing authority, and rules governing planned births outside of hospital settings attended by CNMs."
