Québec: nursing regulator changes plans for degree and exam requirements

The Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec has decided not to move forward with plans to require a baccalaureate in nursing science for entry into the nursing profession, instead continuing to all the college diploma (DEC) in nursing. The order has also suspended for an indefinite period that requirement of the US National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) exam, following an investigation into the high failure rate on the exam. Candidates for the exam will be offered an additional attempt even if tht exceeds the maximum number of planned tests.
