Telemental Health: US trends in 2023

Epstein Becker Green's Telemental Health Laws app tracks state telemental health laws and policies since 2016. The trends they identified in 2023 include the following:
- federal level extensions regarding telehealth services coverage for Medicare and waivers for remote prescribing,
- continued recognition of the benefits of telehealth,
- more focus on telefraud and enforcement,
- focus on telehealth services by mental and behavioral health,
- interstate compacts,
- exceptions to licensure requirements under specific circumstances to support pre-existing practitioner-patient relationships, and
- evolution of guidance on remote prescribing practices.
