Illinois has expanded language access for licensing examinations in several beauty-related professions, with exams for barbers, cosmetologists, estheticians, and nail technicians now available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese. The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation says the change is intended to reduce language barriers for qualified candidates seeking professional licensure and provide broader access to workforce opportunities.
