A new law in Illinois will create an Office of the Ombudsman for International Applicants under the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. In response to the recommendation of the Task Force on Internationally-Licensed Health Care Professionals, a full-time licensing liaison position will be created to assist international applicants with questions and information on education requirements for licensure. The law takes effect January 1, 2024.
