Illinois secretary requests funds for new licensing system

The new secretary of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation has requested budgeting of $6 million to fund a new icensing system. IDFPR's new secretary was previously director of real estate licensing, where he was able to reduce license processing time from six to 8 weeks down to five days. Since 2019, IDFPR has tried to address license processing time issues by increasing the number of processors and implementing an online licensure portal.
