Philippines: call for extension of teacher CPD deadline

The CPD Act of 2016 requires teachers in the Philippines to obtain a specific number of continuing professional development units for license renewal and had been extended to December 31, 2023. The Alliance of Concerned Teachers is urging an extension of the deadline due to the Department of Education's "failure to implement an automated system that encodes credit units for teachers who already participated in seminars and training," which they claim places an unjust burden on teachers to manually submit their CPD requirements.
