Philippines: new requirements for teacher exam candidates

A bill under consideration in the Philippines would require applicants for the teacher licensure exam to take a refresher course if they fail the exam three times. The course would have to be offered by a teacher education institute accredited by the Commission on Higher Education. The bill would also expand eligibility for board positions on the Board of Professional Teachers and increase requirements for teachers wanting to work in specialized subjects or with children with special needs.
