UK General Optical Council considers changes to Opticians Act

The rcent meeting of the UK General Optical Council discussed over 350 stakeholder responses to the call for evidence on the need to change the Opticians Act. One topic of debate was whether regulation should extend to all businesses carrying out restricted optical activities. The Council also debated expanding dispensing optician scope of practice to include refraction.
