Vermont addresses use of "certified pro" on contractor website

Under the agreement, Angi will stop using the “Certified Pro” designation in Vermont, refer users to official state licensing verification resources, notify contractors of their registration obligations, and pay a $100,000 penalty. Though the state framed the agreement as a consumer protection win, observers note that the penalty is relatively modest compared to larger penalties imposed on Angi in other jurisdictions for similar practices.
