Virginia signs universal licensure recognition

Virginia's governor has signed universal occupational licensing legislation. Licenses in good standing in another state will now be recognized in Virginia for 85 different occupations. The out-of-state license must be valid for three years, and applicants must not have any pending discipline issues in their home state. The bill does not apply to "professional services" licenses such as accountants, architects, lawyers, doctors, and engineers.
