Florida: discrepancies between legislative report and public website

The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration has created a new public dashboard intended to track how much uncompensated healthcare is provided to migrants in Florida. However, the information on the public site does not match or share the complete picture of the data that was provided in a report to the legislature. The report included a finding that "the agency was “not able to find any obvious correlation” between the amount of uncompensated care provided by hospitals and the level “of illegal aliens” who were treated at the facilities." The report also notes that “high levels of uncompensated care are more associated with rural county status than illegal immigration percentages.” Neither finding was included in the public-facing website.
