Illinois adds 21 license types to online system
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) announced it has now made 21 additional professional license types available through its new Comprehensive Online Regulatory Environment (CORE) system, completing Phase 2.1 of the rollout. The newly added categories—ranging from acupuncturists and athletic trainers to private detectives, speech-language pathologists, funeral directors, and various temporary permits—were previously processed via paper applications. With this expansion, 28 license types are now accessible through CORE, which is designed to streamline the process by eliminating paper forms and enabling quicker, more efficient digital reviews . IDFPR said the phased implementation over the next year will add renewals, reinstatements, and more categories—including divisions covering real estate and banking—culminating in full system adoption by August 2026.
