Oman: new requirements for foreign-trained professionals

Mobility,

Oman’s travel sector is now preparing for stricter enforcement of professional standards following recent regulatory changes. Under the new policy, foreign professionals must obtain either a professional practice license or a classification certificate issued by the relevant Omani authority before a work permit can be issued or renewed. This change is expected to elevate workforce competency, extend processing times for work permits, and strengthen Oman’s broader commitment to professionalization and regulatory compliance.
