Regulatory changes come into effect in Ontario
A number of regulatory changes have come into effect in Ontario as of January 1, 2023. Some highlights include the following:
Professional Engineers Ontario's Professional Evaluation and Knowledge Program will be madatory continuing education and professional development for all licensees.
Child care licensing process will be streamlined to require all applicants to have their eligibility for Canada-wide Early learning and Child Care funding confirmed prior to licensure application and requiring key municipal approvals to be submitted in conjunction with application.
Pharmacists will be authorized to prescribe treatment for 13 common minor medical conditions.
The College of Nurses of Ontario will be required to issue more timely decisions and responses to registrations.
