Remembering Steve Hart

CLEAR was saddened to hear of the passing of Steve Hart, CLEAR's 2016-17 President, on September 27. 
In Memory of Billy "Steve" Hart

Steve began his employment as a Pharmacy and Drug Inspector in December 2004 and was promoted to Pharmacy Inspections and Investigations Coordinator in April 2009. In 2015 the Board of Pharmacy named Steve Executive Director, a role he held through 2017 until his retirement. Steve is a 1984 graduate of Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to his employment with the Board of Pharmacy, Steve worked as the Pharmacy Development Manager for Rite Aid’s Louisville market. He previously was an independent pharmacy owner and served as the Director of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee Cancer Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Steve served as the pharmacy coordinator for several medical mission teams to Romania and volunteered at the Frankfort Mission Pharmacy.

Within CLEAR, Steve was active on several committees and the Board of Directors, serving as President in 2016-17. Steve advocated for CLEAR's annual conference to be held in CLEAR's and his home state of Kentucky, with the 2022 conference being held in Louisville.
